Welcome to Brookstone Christian Academy.

BCA is a Christian school located in Franktown, Colorado. Romans 12:2 says, “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is - His good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2 is the driving force behind our motto: “Know the Truth, Defend the Truth, and Live the Truth.” BCA’s educational philosophy is dedicated to training students with a solid Biblical worldview through the Principle Approach program.

Statement of Faith

Brookstone Christian Academy is a school dedicated to helping equip students to know
the truth, defend the truth, and speak the truth based on God’s holy word, the Bible. Our goal is to support them in their journey with God and to encourage them to fulfill their unique destiny.

We Believe:

  • The Bible is the inspired and only infallible and authoritative written Word of God (II
    Tim. 3:16; II Peter 1:21).
  • There is one God, externally existent in three persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Gen. 1:1, 2, John 10:30, 37 & 38; Rom. 8:9-11; Deut. 6:4, Matt. 28:19).
  • In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His
miracles, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right Hand of the Father and in His personal return in power and glory (Isaiah 7:14; Matt. 1:23; Luke 1:35; John 2:11; Acts 1:11; Col. 1:14; Heb. 4:15; John 1:1).
  • In the blessed hope – the rapture of the church at Christ’s coming (Titus 2:13)
  • The only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the
precious blood of Christ (John 14:6)
  • Regeneration by the Holy Spirit, through Jesus Christ is absolutely essential for personal salvation (Titus 3:5).
  • In water baptism by immersion (Matt. 28:19).
  • The redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing of the human body in
answer to believing prayer (I Peter 2:14).
  • The baptism in the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who ask for it.
  • In the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life (Gal. 5:16-25).
  • In the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, the one to everlasting life and the other
    to everlasting damnation (Rev. 20:11-15).
  • In the creation of man by the direct act of God (Gen. 1:26-28, 5:1, 2).

BCA is inter-denominational and does not promote or encourage students in any one
denomination. We teach and encourage students that a personal relationship with Christ
is essential to an everlasting relationship with Him and welcome all questions concerning
the Bible. It is our expectation that all parents/guardians will support the school based on
these principles that make up the statement of faith.

BCA Approach To Learning

Biblical Principles: Principal Approach

The Principle Approach has been called "reflective teaching and learning." It is America's historic method of Biblical reasoning which places the truths (principles) of God's Word at the heart of education. Students are taught to think and reason through a Biblically-based tutorial mentoring teaching style.

Brookstone Christian Academy is affiliated with The Foundation for American Christian Education, the founders of the Principle Approach. The Foundation excists to restore the American Christian Repulbic through their curriculum, the Noah Plan.

Character Counts!: Character First!

"Character First!" is a sytematic training approach designed to build character at appropriate age levels. Brookstone uses this curriculum to teach students how to apply Godly character in all aspects of their lives.

  • Character: Who you are when no one is looking!
  • Webster's 1828 Dictionary defines character as: To engrave, inscribe, to distinguish by particular marks or traits. Who and what are engraving or inscribing the distinguishing marks on your child's life?
  • Are those inscriptions Biblical, secular or humanistic?

Skill Development: Direct Instruction

Direct Instruction is a rigorously developed, highly scripted method for teaching reading, spelling and matematics at the elementary level. It is fast paced and provides constant interaction between students and the teacher.

In 1968, Siegfried Engelmann became involved in the world's largest educational experiment, whereby, 25 different approaches to teaching were studied. Most of these approaches are what we see in the public schools today, which explains the overall low we see in test scores across our country.

Engelmann developed Direct Instruction as a result of this research. Further, he has continued to revise the curriculum according to ongoing classroom research.

Brookstone Christian Academy believes that excellence in reading, mathematics, and spelling taught using Direct Instruction, breeds excellence in science, history, and literature.

Our Methods:

Reflective

The notebook method of study uses research, reason, relate and record in every subject to create a permanent record of study. Reflective learning emphasizes writing as both an art and a study skill and research from primary sources.

Historic Learning

America’s Christian history is taught using the providential view. The Chain of Christianity moving westward provides a perspective of Western Civilization that encourages the restoration of the American Republic.

Classical Teaching

Classical literature is taught throughout the grades including poetry, Shakespeare, and children’s classics. Modern and classical languages are taught beginning in kindergarten: French and Spanish in the primary and middle school grades and adding Latin in middle school. Mathematics and sciences are given precedence using both a traditional approach and hands on methods.

A Tutorial Approach

A Tutorial approach takes responsibility for the learning success of every child and respects individuality. Small class sizes enhance the learning environment.
