Debbie Winegar - Administrator
dwinegar@brookstonechristian.org
Debbie Winegar, the administrator of
Brookstone Christian Academy, has been at BCA since
its opening in 2003.
She and her husband, Rich, have seven
boys, ranging in age from 9 to 25. Through 20+ years of educating their
family, they have experienced everything from public education to home
schooling. Debbie’s early training was in nursing, but God led
her in other directions. Debbie and Rich have been business owners for
25 years.
In addition, Debbie has classroom experience team teaching in the elementary
setting. When the opportunity to become the administrator at Brookstone
arose, Debbie took the opportunity because the Principle Approach, combined
with Direct Instruction and character training, seemed like a better
way to educate children. Debbie brings vision and leadership to Brookstone
Christian Academy. This year, she stepped into a vacancy in the Kindergarten
and 1st grade classroom, and has truly enjoyed giving our youngest students
a solid beginning in their learning experience. Five of Debbie’s
sons have been in school at Brookstone—her three youngest are still
students at BCA. |

Jill Grassnick 4th/5th Grade
Teacher jgrassnick@brookstonechristian.org
Mrs. Grassnick graduated from Bob Jones University
with an Elementary Education major and an English
minor in 1982. She taught fifth grade at Silver
State
Christian School for four years and it was then that she was taught the
philosophy of the Principle Approach to education.
She also met her husband, David,
during that time. They were married in 1986
and started their family soon after that.
They moved to South Carolina and Jill taught for a year at Southside Christian
School. They then, moved back with their young daughter, Rachel. After
one more year of teaching at Silver State, Jill
began teaching at a brand new
school called American Christian Academy and
continued teaching there for 13 more
years. Eventually she decided to take a break and pursue her newfound love
of photography. Soon after she became acquainted with Debbie Winegar and
was made aware of Brookstone Christian Academy.
It was then that God began to work
her passion for teaching back into her mind. She began missing the relationships
and blessings of ministry with children in the classroom. Through many
different circumstances it is obvious to her that
this is where she is supposed to
be. She said "My training and my life
path, and most of all, my God has led me to
this place,
at this time, for these students. Praise God
from Whom all
blessings flow!" |

13 years, having received a Bachelor's Degree in Distributive
Social Sciences and a secone BA in Seconary Education
with a middle school emphasis, both from the University
of Wyoming. After teaching middle school in Billings,
Montana and at St. John's Lutheran School in Denver,
she took several years to be a mom and help her husband,
Tim, run their business. During that time she served
as the education director at Christ Community Church
in Denver where she has been a member for almost 15
years. God brought Kory back to the classroom as HE
brought her three children to Brookstone. She is currently
serving as Lead Teacher and is the middle school teacher. |

Tammy Vacura - Music Teacher
BCA’s music teacher is Tammy Vacura. Music is
something that was in her from the beginning of my
time. She absolutely loves worshipping the Lord. Tammy
has been involved with worship teams since 1981. She has lead worship for
several
different home groups, children’s church, youth group, and Women’s
Aglow. She has been leading the worship team at Castlewood Canyon Church
since Aug.of 2001.
Tammy has been leading worship for chapel at Brookstone since Sept. of
2005 and she absolutely enjoys the children. This year Mrs. Winegar asked
if she would
teach music for Brookstone. The Lord immediately placed in her heart why
we were given the ability to sing. Tammy loves to teach the children to
sing, but more
than that, she loves to share with them how to praise God. |
